MLB Network will nationally broadcast an additional series of "Pennant Race" games in September featuring teams in contention for the MLB Postseason, as announced today by Major League Baseball. The games will be in addition to MLB Network's schedule of Thursday Afternoon Baseball, Thursday Night Baseball and Saturday Night Baseball, and will be determined each week based on the standings and playoff implications at the time.

MLB Network will air the New York Mets at Colorado Rockies at 3:00 p.m. ET as part of Thursday Afternoon Baseball this week. The game, which is not scheduled to be broadcast locally in Colorado, will be aired on MLB Network in the Rockies' home television territory as a simulcast of the SportsNet New York feed. The game will be blacked out in the Mets' home television territory and viewers in the area subject to blackouts will be provided with alternate programming.

This week's Thursday Night Baseball match-up features the San Francisco Giants at Philadelphia Phillies at 7:00 p.m. ET with MLB Network's Bob Costas and Jim Kaat calling the game. The Detroit Tigers at Tampa Bay Rays on September 5 at 7:00 p.m. ET will finish off the week on Saturday Night Baseball.

"We are looking forward to giving baseball fans additional live national game coverage as the pennant races come down to a finish," said Tony Petitti, President and Chief Executive Officer of MLB Network. "Throughout September, MLB Tonight will continue to keep viewers updated with live game look-ins and the latest leaders, stats and predictions leading into the postseason."
